Privacy notice

How accounts, discussions, subscriptions and local browser tools use information.

Information you provide

Creating an account stores an email address, display name and a securely hashed password. Comments store their text, language and time; approved comments and display names are public. Contact forms and reports are stored for review. Do not include sensitive personal information in public discussions.

Subscriptions and service email

Subscription requests require email confirmation. Confirmed addresses may receive the requested newsletter and can unsubscribe through the link provided. Password-reset and confirmation messages are service communications. SMTP delivery is performed through the operator’s configured provider.

Cookies and local storage

Essential cookies maintain sign-in and form security. Saved cats, comparisons and certain tool records use browser local storage. They are specific to that browser and may disappear when storage is cleared. The application does not include advertising or analytics trackers by default.

Security and abuse prevention

Rate limiting uses a hashed representation of the connection address and time window. Moderation records help address spam and abuse. Administrators should retain records only as long as needed for their stated purpose.

Your choices

You can stop posting, unsubscribe and clear local browser records. Use the contact form to request access, correction or deletion of account information, identifying the relevant account. Verification may be needed before changes are made.

External services

Translation sends editorial page text to the configured translation provider. Source links lead to external websites with their own policies. The site operator’s identity and public contact details should be maintained in the website settings and contact page.
